316L Stainless Steel Roundel Necklace with Belgium colors
Fabricated in corrosion resistant Marine Grade 316L Stainless Steel. This high quality Roundel Necklace is painted with the colors of Belgium in durable low density epoxy based Enamel.
The Roundel Necklace is a hand-crafted jewelry piece inspired in the early aviation days.
Roundels were first introduced at the onset of WWI to differentiate friend from foe by marking the nationality of the aircraft.
The Roundel Necklace is a tribute to the passion for flying and the pride of national identity.
Heritage and craftmanship combine in a manual manufacturing process to create this a high-quality pendant out of 316L stainless steel.
Initially, the tough raw metal alloy is carved in the lathe, precision drilled using CNC technology and individually engraved.
Then, low density epoxy-based enamel is applied to create vivid and durable colors. Finally, each piece is mirror polished all by hand.
The Roundel Necklace is complete with an exclusively designed, fully detachable, leather cord with a magnetic clasp.

Tech Specs and Dimensions
High quality 316L stainless steel and leather are widely used in aviation precisely because of qualities like strength and durability, so it was only logical that they were present in an aviation inspired design.
Stainless Steel 316L is a tough Chromium, Nickel and Molybdenum alloy usually referred to as the “marine grade stainless steel” or “surgical steel”. The Molybdenum content increases significantly the corrosion resistant properties to pitting and crevice.
So, when you consider durability, stainless steel clearly outperforms other metals. It can handle a lot of wear and tear without ever fading in color or staining, and it offers an excellent alternative for wearers with allergies to base metals such as copper or brass.
The main metal piece weighs 28g, it is 30mm in diameter and 6mm in width.
